Genealogy InfoOver the last 20 years I have been doing an in-depth search on my own family history. It has taken me from Italy to Spain, and back to Italy! It's wonderful to know that in the little hilltop villages of the many regions of Italy the parish clergy have recorded, over many centuries, whole family histories. I have traced my line back to 1600 in the hamlet of Civitavecchia, city of Arpino, Frosinone, Lazio. It's wonderful to see the names of my ancestors and the many different families they married into over a period of ten generations ( see the Rea family history ). This page is in response to the many enquiries I receive regularly about getting started with your genealogy. I hope these addresses are of help, please note that it may take some time to receive a reply, particularly from Italy. You may even have to write more than once, or make a small contribution for information. Your chances with Italian contacts will improve if you can write your enquiry in Italian. Check our family surnames page to see if you have connections with Ancoats Little Italy here in Manchester, UK.
