Annual Madonna Procession - A Tradition Continues

Tragically in December last year there was a major accidental fire which destroyed several emblems of the Manchester Italian Association. Most importantly nobody was hurt, but several emblems - the canopy of the Madonna, base and poles - were destroyed.

Through hard work and fund raising efforts of the MIA President, Anthony Schiavo, the committee, and their families and friends of the Association, enough money was raised to replace the items that were lost. This was a great achievement in only six months.

Although in jeopardy a few months ago, the annual procession which has taken place through the streets of Manchester since 1890 will continue. The procession will commence at 1.45pm on Sunday 6 July following mass at St. Michael's R.C. Church. All welcome to join us, for further details contact 07919 327 391.
